Who is running the youth club?
I'd have thought if they were offering lifts to twelve year olds they'd want to pick them up, either from home, or somewhere else that was safe.
As someone said earlier, someone ringing to speak to a twelve year old at ten o'clock on a school night, is also someone without much forethought.
