I worked for an Insurance Broker for a couple of years and did the Car Insurance for clients, and never at any time was I instructed to advise the most expensive 'deal', always had the best interest of the client at heart, as they would return to place their business for pensions, life assurance, etc., which was far more lucrative.
Sure most are still like this, knowing that most people can shop around easily now.
