Re: Oh bar humbug
Instead of being nice to friends and neighbours at Xmas why don’t people do the same the whole year round?
For me and by choice, Xmas is just another couple of days the same as all the rest. The only difference is that there might be some decent programmes on TV.
With 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren I cannot afford to give them all a meaningful Xmas present so they all get a card with a fiver for those under 16. They get a tenner on their birthday. They all know not to buy me a pressie, as a card will do for me. Those who can will drop in for ten minutes to wish me the season’s greetings. If anyone is so conscience stricken that they insist on buying me something for Xmas they know that either a packet of fags or a bar of chocolate will be appreciated rather than something that I don’t need or want.
So Xmas is bah humbug for me but if the world wants to celebrate then that is fine by me. Just don’t ask me to get involved. I’m content in my world.
Happy Xmas Everyone!
