Exactly - they choose to do that job, and they get paid for it, they are not forced by anyone. I choose to market biscuits, they choose to go to war. It would only be a human rights issue if they were forced to go, as happens to some young children in Africa, for example.
volonteerign doesn't necessarily mean you don't get paid, it just means you chose to do it of your own will.
