Have to agree with you there Sara - there should be safe walkway areas between the parked cars and zebra crossings over the roads. And yes Katex is absolutely right. It makes no sense to park with your boot inaccessible. You need to be able to get the boot open and the trolly close to the boot.
The old layout was not perfect but this is certainly not an improvement.
