Gales of 70mph are expected to batter Britain this week - with colder conditions following.
Much of Scotland, down to Manchester in the north of England, is likely to be hit by high winds over the next few days, MeteoGroup UK said. There will be very strong winds across Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, northern England and north Wales.
