Post Re: The original disco?

;D Its been interesting reading all your memories, but I can go back further, having just returned to live in Accrington after being away for 50 years, who out there remembers Jo Morts  dance hall and fish suppers at the Tower Fish and chip shop both by the railway bridge on blackburn Road, and what about Knowlmere Street dance hall, who remembers the Odeon cinema which is now the Arndale Centre,  how about the The Kings Picture House known as the "bug hut" with the Snooker Hall underneath, and of course the Palace Cinema on the corner of Abbey Steet near the post office, which is now a clothing store, we also had the Empire and the Princes cinema's both in Edgar street, of course this was in the 50's, when we had a fairground called the Tenement, a hippodrome for pantomimes every Christmas, but no TV. no Telephone and few cars, we walked to school, I am sure we were much happier than the bored youngsters of today.
