Are you aware of the connection with the Bullough family of Accrington (of Howard and Bullough fame) and Kinloch Castle, on the Isle of Rhum (Rum) in Scotland? The firm became the largest manufacturer of ring spinning frames and weft frames in the world (hence the name of the building, "The Globe"

- At its peak in the mid-1920's, almost 6,000 people were employed there.
The castle on the island is now in a poor state of repair and is featured on a new BBC2 programme to be shown 8th August and called "Restoration" - apparently different homes are to be visited and it gives viewers the chance to rescue from ruin one of 30 significient buildings.
Watch out for it - it should be good.
