Have learnt my lesson re. wearing items of clothing, etc., that make you suffer in silence, but the following brought back memories.
My grandaughter stayed with me last weekend and, think I have mentioned before is a bit of a Goth .. although the feminine type.
We went shopping down Blackburn, and she was wearing a longish black (of course) pencil skirt, laced up either side with satin ribbon. Couldn't understand why she wished to go down the lift from the 2nd floor on the car park .. explained that because of the skirt, could not step wide enough to get up/down stairs ..
Although she denied her 4 inch heels, black with skull and cross cutlasses on side were comfortable, couldn't help noticing the wobble now and then ..
The best was the new corset .. which cost a fortune !! (£200 +) Must admit she looked stunning, but after some sort of spaghetti dish in Frankie and Bennies, did not come as a surprise that she politely requested that we go soon, as needed me to loosen it in the car ..
These corsets are extremely popular now, and wonder if we are going to see a generation of liver damaged young ladies or faintings in the street as in Victorian days.
