Oh what a shame that I missed the Linguaphone, our Em is doing German at school and her pronunciation is awful. She could do with listening to it being spoken by someone other than me. I get the feeling there isn't much emphasis on pronunciation in her class. The other night she was reading something to me which she couldn't understand in her homework and I struggled in vain to follow what she was saying. Then I said, "Em your pronunciation is so bad I can't understand a word of that. You might as well be speaking a foreign language!"

Cyfr, I would say the same as others here, choose your Uni based on the course, not on the nightlife - but if you want to know what it's like in Hull why not see if you can ask someone who is already there. Have you tried contacting current students?
