Re: TV in pubs?
My personal view is that they shouldn't be showing that kinda thing in a pub. All the pubs I went to while traveling in England had sporting events or news on. I like to be able to watch a match/game in glimpses while enjoying a good "natter." I believe most american bars show mostly this type of programming.
Of course it may have had something to do with my England travels ocurring during the July 5th - 12th (World Cup and bombing anniversary). So the pub programming fit quite well with my expectations and interests!
