Today I was driving in the tiny winding lanes between West Bradford and Waddington. I was in a 40 ft coach which took up most of the road so I was naturally cautious

Suddenly, rounding a corner, I saw her.........she was standing on the top of a wall and was very unbalanced, her friend joined her and I realised that they both intended to throw themselves under the wheels of my coach.........

I eased up even more on the throttle and sure enough, when I was just a few metres from them, they jumped from the wall, legs peddling away in free air until they landed right in front of me.

Because of my low speed, I was able to stop in time, they recovered from their jump, shook themselves and trotted down the side of the coach to disappear into the distance................

For a few seconds, visions of Sunday lunch came to mind as I watched the two sheep pass by in my rear view mirror..........and then I wondered, Who else has had a close call with animals in the road? anyone?
