Re: Why you should never go to a mosque...

[QUOTE=Billcat;377630]Have to check up why on the head coverings.

Shoes are considered necessary, but unclean - especially the soles (if you've ever gone walking where people have taking their dogs, this is easy to understand). Therefore, they are not worn into the mosque. QUOTE]

Ok .. know what you saying, understand re. mud, dog dirt, etc., but as most mosques used to be in hot countries in the world and men don't wear socks and sometimes shoes, think your barefeet are more unclean and open to the passing on of things like veruccas, fungal infections, etc. Would be interesting to see if more muslims have a higher percentage of virus infected feet.

That's why most leisure centres ask you to wear some form of shoewear to the side of the pool, although this doesn't make sense either, as you always have to walk a few yards to the edge of the pool and can be in an out anyway during the course of your swim.

Re: hats in church Willow, yes, they did, didn't they? but don't think ever had any religious meanings, just manners. Funny, how men were expected to take their hats off though ..
