Pram is just short for perambulator and the verb 'to perambulate' is very similar to 'to stroll' so a pram being the same as a stroller makes sense. However, even though they may all be prams some prams are buggies. In the olden days we used to call the ones toddlers sit up in 'pushchairs' but I don't think anyone uses that term any more.
