We would like to think that teachers are in the position where they can identify this sort of thing but are they really? I mean, a teacher who has thirty children to look after does not necessarily know every single thing about them. Things could be ok on the outside and the teacher not know a thing. Also, in this day and age, they would be terrified of making accusations in case they get sued for slander.

Yes, I totally agree in this case now that it's been highlighted. I'm not arguing with you I'm just genuinely keen to learn how social services get to the stage where they are involved in the first place.
