I'm also having problems with them. I have card meters but the card Powergen keep sending me for the gas doesn't work. The meter needs to be re-commisioned and UU will only do it when there is no credit on it. I'm supposed to let the credit run out and then ring them and wait in for up to 12 hours with no gas. After my recent boiler problems it's not something I am breaking my neck to do.
