It was good of you to offer him assistance. I don't know him, but I suspect the idea for an Accy Mardi Gras was just a way for him to get publicity for his business, and he had no intention of actually making it happen.
Amongst other things, my godfather own's the UK's largest gay lifestyle chain of stores, he's also involved in running the festivals in London, Manchester and Brighton. Ticketed or free, they always lose money, even when well attended. which those three are.
Gayle, I hope being discriminated against won't put you off offering your funding skills to other, more serious, people.
