Allan Turing broke the Enigma Code mancie, he was born in Manchester and lead a team of code breakers at Cheltenham. The Enigma machine was first discovered by Polish Partisans and given to us. The Germans added another wheel to the machine when they knew we had it. The capture of a crippled German Submarine with the naval codes helped to over- come this added wheel. Allan Turing is celebrated at the imperial war museum with a plaque, unfortunatly like all great men he had his 'Achilees heel' and committed suicide to save his aged mother the scandal.
This country owes Allan Turing more than we ever gave him.
