Going a bit light hearted now but Grays last year was a prime example of how to aviod sitting:
the stewards were getting a bit lairy with their 'enforcing' and were quoting allsorts of regs and rules and if you dont sit down you're leaving. So we made a big song and dance (unlike the Ultras innit) about sitting down. As soon as everybody was seated, up went the cry 'Stand Up if you love Stanley' at which point more people stood up than initially were. Then we sat, again. Then we decided that to stand up and sing we would walk to the corner flag where there was a little concrete concourse. 'We're walking - so we can stand and sing, we're walking - so we can stand and sing!' All the stewards had to accompany us as they were set up for monitoring the stand. And, like Redraine says, the staying seated had to half crouch/stand to allow us all past. Having conga'd to the corner flag and had half of Londons finest coppers and stewards follow us, we decided standing sucked and we'd rather sit ................
After 15 or so minutes of this they agreed we were a) 'top of the league (soon to be) and havin a laff and b) posed no threat whatsoever. They saw sense and relaxed a bit. We had great banter with them (big breasted blonde in particular
