Try reading my initial response. As a 48 year old male I would have assumed you were mature enough to take responsibility for your own actions. Read my lips-No individual fan was pointed out by me or given advice to the Rochdale stewards re being ejected. Their ground-their rule. The dale stewards did act on thier own as you found out to your detriment since you and 26 others would not heed or accept Phils or my advice to you all that they would start ejecting if you continued to fail to comply with their stewards. As Mick Schultz put in last nights programme your actions brought shame & a reputation on the club that could cost it in extra games being policed at a cost of at least £5000 per game & could also have been taken further by the league if Rochdale had reported the expultion of you all to them. Explain wasting club money like that to Eric. As to safety more fans were crowded together than that area allowed for- one fan gets pushed, goes tumbling forward, grabs someone else & you have a cascade of fans repeating the same with resultant mass causing who knows what injuries. Its not a case of it didn't happen, health & safety is about what could happen & preventing before it does. We had to sit & watch the Bradford fire disaster from outbreak as part of our course on why stewards are required at all public events now, only three persons were at bradford & the one with keys was having a brew at the other end of the ground. I am sure some like minded fans said that could never happen but it did.
Dealing with the opposition fans is not easy at best of times but when you try & help your own fans & get it thrown back in your face because someone thought wrongly they were being grassed up,then took no heed of our warning & then put the blame on us for the consequenses sucks. Do not put words in my mouth again, had I done anything detrimental I am big enough to have stood up & appologised but I did not & as I said before I think the appologies should go to the players & directors Of Accrington Stanley for the shame you brought on the club. All stewards have undertaken voluntary training as stewards & have been and continue to be assesed in our duties as such by the club, representatives of Telford colledge the FA & Lancashire county council & have passed all inspections as to our role & told we are doing our job as trained ,well & will continue to do so. If you are offended by our actions which will be taken after fair warning for your breaking the ground regulations then simply stay away because the rules will not be changed or broken for anyone. You can continue to bicker among yourselves as much as you want but this fact will not change, just leave me out of it now as I am not prepared to have to repeat mysef anymore. You make your bed-you lie in it!
