After they failed to turn up to swap meters after I took time of work and a terse email to customer services British Gas sent me a letter today.

We are sorry that we did not call at your property on 15 February 2007 as agreed to inspect your meter.

We appreciate that this may have caused you some inconvenience. We will therefore credit you £20.

I am wondering if they are having problems with appointments or it was my email. When and if I get over this I will celebrate a victory for the little people who suffer at the hands of these companies and recommend emailing displeasure to them.
