Re: OSC Open Day.
due to the Lancashire County Council ridiculous laws regarding safety, the OSC Open Day has now been cancelled.
Despite contacting both HBC and LCC way back in September, October and November regarding what licenses we may require, I was assured that the only thing we needed was a Temporary Event Notice to cover the music. Then after four months of nothing I am told only six weeks before the event that we need a separate safety certificate as the Ground is designated for football only. This would cost anywhere between £1000-£2000. As this was a fundraiser there is no way on earth we could afford to pay it.
To try to salvage something from the day I enquired about holding everything bar the football on the car parks. This was okay, on proviso that the turnstiles remain closed and the toilets were not used! Crazy, crazy world and damn stupid health and safety legislation again prevent the little man from making a stand.
The music will go ahead still but in the clubhouse and a later starting time.
Everything else that has taken 7 months to work towards is cancelled.
Thank you to all those that have helped to get us as far as we got but I am sorry that your work was in vain.
Roll on the next event which will be the annual Supporters Club presentation evening. This will now be held on the 28th April after the Macclesfield match
