MissT said that she had managed to cut n shut it into IFV. I got the impression that its sat at that stage ie. that she doesn't know that it needed to be saved as a file on her PC such that could then be either attached to a post or hosted somewhere.

Not at that point. when it comes to hosting pictures etc thats a completely different stage.

PCs, easy aren't they!
