both of my parents worked full time to keep us in food and clothes.....we never had a foreign holiday...in fact we never went away at all...unless you call a day trip to Edisford Bridge a holiday. OK, I was born just after the war and things were different then......but I also had to work to supplement my hubby's income....again to ensure we had a roof over our heads and food in our bellies.
There wasn't the same 'live now, pay later' mentality....and the only debt we had was our mortgage.
