I can't remember where but you can check what version of codec you have installed for WMV. have a dig around and see if there is a difference.

I have tryed loads of different codecs but to no avail yet. I have also tryed uninstalling the lastest windows media player 11 and installing an older version. At the moment I am not sure what the media player is on the laptop as its packed away now. I ahve also tryed watching the link here for the golf
