Re: PB Is Gointo Make Us All Happy Residents
Those benches are flippin freezing in winter too. I always remember my Grannie telling me not to sit on stone walls or I'd get piles and now the council has provided us with even colder seats!
Those raised flower beds were removed so the market could have a temporary home on Broadway whilst they demolished the old site and built the new 'pavilions'. I think they call them pavillions to make us feel like they did us a favour giving us something new and posh.
PB then said that he wanted Broadway to be more open plan to accommodate the French market and any other fairground attractions they fancied having in future but any continental markets we've had have been along the front of the market hall ever since!! Which is typical.
Even if we had something with bulbs in it would still need maintaining - keeping weed free and litter free and it would need careful planning to have a show of flowers throughout the summer so that as one lot died off another lot would bloom. Bedding plants may sound more expensive bur it's probably just as cost effective in the long run with the man hours etc. That hanging basket tree idea on the roundabout seems to have been forgotten lately and they used to look really nice.
