I love gardening, it's my hobby. Is it Nature or Nurture? Well, my dad was a keen gardener so I grew up being used to weeding and cultivating. I love a beautiful lawn but I don't like mowing so about 10 years ago I "excavated" my back garden and paved and gravelled it, leaving just borders and dozens of pots. When my daughter and granddaughter came to live with me I thought Laura needed somewhere a bit more comfortable to play so I re-lawned half of it.

I get a kick out of growing plants, especially from seed, and I like to be able to look at and sit in an attractive garden but I enjoy the hard work too, digging etc. I still don't like mowing the lawn but at least there's not much of it to mow.
