Re: v bolton
Twas a great night out despite the result.
Future doesn`t look too bright if thats whats comin thru the ranks at Bolton.
They were P Poor and how many of their fans turned up ?
Never heard a "BOLTON" all night. The equaliser was greeted with a shocked silence from the Stanley fans.
Leighton came on for Mullers after about 10 mins wearing Mangos shirt and twisted thru about 3 defenders for the opener. Stanley had the better of the play for most of the game but it was all a bit messy with Bolton just booting it as far as poss every chance. Martin Fearon put in an excellent performance on (correct me if Im wrong) his 1st team debut. He made some good saves on the rare occasions Bolton got a shot on target, but his kicking and throwing was better than we saw from either Bavs or Elliot and he also made a penalty save which could have won the match if those other 2 numptys could have hit the target. Flashback to Maccas crossbar challenge.
Cashmecheck didn`t SAVE any !
Chanting was great under Clitheroes small yet perfectly formed roofs (Yes Plural) feel really old to say its been 30 years since I went to Shawbridge.
Particularly funny was the chant of "Charnley Out !" when Bolton equalised.
Mcgivern had a goal disallowed for offside cos some hooligans were calling the liner a midget, we should have had a penalty for Proccy and one of theirs should have walked for that foul on Mcgivern. Apart from that decent officials.
Shame we didn`t finish on a high note, but as it`s the last game I`d like to say thanks to everyone I`ve met this season, to everyone who Ive sung along with, leapt up and down and hugged with, hung my head in misery with, drunk copious amounts with, chatted on here with, irritated with my horrendous music, all in all shared so much passion with Stanley`s 1st season back in the league. Long may they remain.
