hi, my purse was taken from my bag in accrington, and i had it shut at the time, i was reaching up to look at some clothing, felt a odd sensation, looked down realised it had gone, informed staff police called, no joy, looked round shop but everyone looked very innocent. i in a shop opposite if any one else had reported a theft and a couple said a middleaged woman and man had tried taking theirs but had felt the bag open, apparentely they had followed from the market. both the police and myself searched for them, no joy. too be truthful i don,t think the police were interested, they just said you may be lucky and get the purse back but not the contents, and that i didn,t fit the usual stereotype of person who was normally targeted. i was that shook up and mad i,d have done time if i had found them. the police said one of thier recent tricks is to use a magnet to release the zip, that way no fingerprints are found. i always thought i had my items safe, now i usually place my bag in a carrier, the things you have to do. to this day i still feel violated, god knows what an elderly person must feel. trouble is even if they are caught they only get a slap on the wrist, so it,s a no win situation aromalady
