Your grandmother and my mother (friends & neighbours) were 2 of a kind.
When I joined the Civil Service at age16, I had to go to London for a week induction training. I had the pocket in the knickers too. Got to the front of the queue in Lyons Corner House and had to ask to use the toilet. (terribly naive, shy & embarrassed I was then)
