Think the reason we don't like the expression 'Have a nice day' is the fact that at school, the word 'nice' is only inserted if we cannot think of a better adjective .. would get minus points for using this in our English Literature pieces ... so prefer to say 'lovely, pleasant, etc.' 'Nice' sounds a little common/banal to us ..
