I've got at least 5 pairs of shoes I've only worn once. Nature, sadly, endowed me with enlarged toe joints - bunions (but not the swollen "squishy" type). I had them as a child but I didn't help matters by always wearing 4" stilettos from age about 17 to 30.

I buy some shoes and they hurt like hell so I don't wear them twice. I also have some that do get an airing every now and then and I have others that get worn constantly. I reckon I have about 25 pairs, some of them absolutely in pristine condition and some definitely heading for the shabby side.

P.S. Our cat has a shoe-fetish. She rolls on them, drools on them and cuddles them. I think she was Imelda Marcos in a previous life.
