Not mentioning the other clubs was ignorance on my behalf not being a cricket follower. I thought Enfield cricket club was just a function room

The cost of taking part is negligible compared to the feelgood of the participants and thepotential goodwill that comes from the procession and a bloody big advert through town.

There was also an absence of churches, Scout troops and Brownies etc - all of which would have been on show years ago
