Of course the question is just who is it that is actually offended by such things as the golliwog and tin-tin?
This puts me in mind of the debate we had some time ago on the subject of Britain apologising for its part in the American slave trade. Funny, I don't see representatives from North Africa standing up and offering to apologise to Great Britain and Spain for the Slave Raids of the sixteenth century - must be something only us whiteys are expected to do. But then that is the trouble with holier-than-thou attitudes - they don't usually stand up to much scrutiny.
