Famous misquotes.
I'm currently reading Tina Brown's The Diana Chronicles, and howled with laughter last night. A close friend of Diana's apparently told Ms. Brown that Diana never called her butler Paul Burrell 'her rock'. What she actually said was 'he's wearing my frock'. True or not, it is very funny.
Another suprise misquote is that Sherlock Holmes never said 'Elementary my dear Watson' in any of the Conan Doyle book, it was only used in the subsequent films, and Marie Antoinette actually said the revoting peasants should eat bread, rather than the oft quoted cake.
Anymore misquotes?
