It's not just housing and councils who are suffering. The NHS is going under with the added weight of extra people to treat and less nurses on the shop floor. We are absolutely run ragged and are dangerously short staffed throughout the country. Tea breaks are a thing of the past, I worked a 13 1/2 hour shift yesterday with just half an hours break, our hospitals are heaving but the government just keeps on cutting beds......
When you look at the criteria for immigration to places like Australia, Canada and New Zealand (and believe me, I've looked), there are hundreds of hoops to jump through for skilled migrants. Here, we are taking people with limited skills into jobs which our home grown youngsters should be
made to do. I appreciate that some (not all) of our youngsters would rather sit on their backsides and claim benefits instead of working in a menial job but I believe that state handouts should not be an option to anybody under the age of 21 who hasn't ever worked.
Anybody care to put me in charge?
