Art nouveau - from nature, long lines, swirly leaves, girls with long out of proportion bodies, circa 1900.

Art deco- angular, boxy, clean lines, sleek, 1920's/30's.

I always remember it because nouveau is a long, sensuous word, whilst deco is to the point and sharp, like their respective designs.

These two lights are more inspired by art deco, but are really great examples of late 50's, early 60's space race chic, and at a tenner are a bargain, in my opinion.
