Not wishing to rain on your parade or anything, but the harsh reality is sides like Peterborough,Bradford and Shrewsbury have the cash "on the hip" so to speak. ( I believe that the Marc Pugh guy you mentioned left the Shakers for a better deal at Shrewsbury)
Whilst I'd wish Bury all the best(results against Stanley apart), at THIS level, It's a fact of life that when any club in the lower reaches unearths some young blood with talent, invariably the bigger clubs will come a calling. It's then down to the selling club to negotiate and structure a deal which will benefit them in the long run (i.e. sell on clauses etc. etc.)
If (and in Bury's case it has been proven) that serves to protect the immediate future of the selling club, then I'm sure most fans at this level realise that it's the only way forward.

Quite correct, carpon. We have no debt, we have gigg lane back, so the money from cups can go to wage and transfer budgets and we wont have to sell our best players every January and in the Summer. So the "Nugent deal" is still great in terms of financial use and our current squad.
