Re: How Can Crowd Numbers be Boosted

A number of years ago when Sheffield Wednesday left the Prem and it became apparent the parachute payments would make little impact on their massive debt a group of supporters founded The Owls Trust now known as Wednesdayite with a view to safeguarding and promoting the club. The directors gave them shares worth about 9% of the club.

Its turned rather sour with Wednesdayite and the Board not working together.

We already have the supporters club and the Ultras and I hesitate to suggest that a further organisation be formed but clearly some organisation focussed on the preservation and development of league football at Accrington Stanley and capable of reaching out locally and nationally (most football people have an interest in and affection for Stanley) is needed to expand the club's unique profile and its support base and hopefully assist with funds.

Accrington Stanley FC is a national institution and there's no way Stanley's league status and development should be allowed to be jeopardised because of a current lack of people coming through the turnstiles.

In the ordinary course a season ticket would not be feasible for me because distance and family circumstances mean I can at best get to 4 - 6 home games a season but if it came to the club's league survival I am sure many in a similar position would consider what tangible substitute support they could provide to the club.
