No one sat her down and explained the situation about having to share her husband with his mistress. If they had she would have had a choice.
I fear your opinion maybe somewhat different if some scummy man had entered into a marriage with a daughter of your's, under the same circumstances. In fact I think you'd probably go after him with a gun.
