Collector's magazines.
We've all seen them advertised, but has anyone bought a complete set?
You know the ones. The first issue comes at an intoductory price of £1.99, usual RRP £5.99 hidden away in small printed brackets, and includes a 'free' butterfly, a piece of doll's furniture, or a historically accurate toy soldier etc.
I saw one advertised today that came with a Star Wars chess piece. Normal price being £7.99 per issue. That's over two hundred and fifty pounds for the complete chees set, plus you probably have to buy a 'collector's board' separately, when the cost of the whole thing is probably only worth twenty quid.
So, anyone bought a whole set, started to and then given up, or prefer to spend your money on something else?
