just had a phone call from the secretary at Reece's school
i know her personally so we are on first name terms
it went like this .....
secretary... 'hi Shanida its Denise from school'
me ..'hiya Denise whats wrong?'
secretary...'has Reece's dad had a heart attack?'
me...'pardon?'
secretary...'Reece was a bit upset yesterday in school and he said this morning that you recieved a letter yesterday saying his dad was very ill and had just had a heart attack'
me...*starts laughing* 'no Denise as far as i know his dad hasnt had a heart attack, he hasnt seen him or heard from him for well over 12 months'
secretary...'oh, thats what he told his new teacher today'
me... *still laughing* 'i think he must be trying it on with his new teacher, i'll kill him when he gets home'
secretary...*starts laughing too* 'ok, just wanted to make sure everything was alright, i'll let his teacher know'
me...'ok Denice, i'll be having words with him when he gets home, thanx for letting me know'
secretary...*still laughing* 'yes i think that would be a good idea, thankyou, goodbye'
i know i shouldnt still be laughing, but i am, was it Reece and a bit of wishful thinking or what?
i'll ask him when he gets home why he felt he had to tell lies, and what was the real problem behind why he was upset
