It did work for tranmere and still does to a degree.

I find it ironic that the tranmere manager Ronny Moore appeals to Everton and Liverpool fans to go and support them on the Friday nights.

It makes sense for Tranmere as away fans can make a night of it in Liverpool town centre.

Away fans can hardly make a night of it in Accrington.
