Those of us who do pay attention, consider our driving, review and critique ourselves where necessary and generally 'have a clue' have to work with laws based on teh skills of others.
Police drivers are trained and skilled in driving fast, thats why they are allowed to break speed limits, IF IT WASN'T SAFE TO TRAVEL OVER THE LIMIT THEY WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED!!!

Would you have the speed limits set at the ‘highest common denominator” then?
It is the arrogance of drivers that declare themselves as great drivers that are the greatest cause for concern. Because of their misplaced self confidence in unproven skills they become a danger to other road users.
If you are not prepared to abide by the Road Traffic Acts, then get off the road. You are a menace!!!
For your information the police are not allowed to break the speed limits per sec. They are only allowed to exceed the set speed limit under certain circumstances and even then if they cause an accident they will be charged accordingly.
