13 Month Year?

Whilst daydreaming at work on friday I mused as to why the calendar is not based on 28 day months as per womens' monthly cycles.

You'd end up with 13 months of equal days and the four seasons would have 13 weeks.

I mean really, it's no wonder the number 13 is as miffed off as it is when it is not being used as often as it should be!

Every now and agin you could still have the leap years etc, which should be celebrated and given as an extra bank holiday?

And whilst we are at it, do modern day astronomers, scientists, day dreamers not have a more accurate way of maintaining time? The Gregorian Calendar was not as infallible as it reckoned itself to be as every 400 years we have to lose 3 days! Betcha didn't know that did you? The day is lost on Century years that are divisible by 100 but not by 400, so the year 2000 was but 1900 wasn't and neither will 2100. You would think that 500 years after the event the modern calendar was invented we would have a different way of doing it. For Gawds sake we even had a Feb 30th once because of it!!!!!!!!
