Here's a cheap way to brighten up your bathroom:

I painted over my horrible pink tiles with white tile paint...
then I cut up some black floor tiles, and used strong glue to stick them onto the wall,
to make a modern looking boarder... ( would not recommend over the shower area)
The floor tiles have stayed on... and look really cool....
