I think that a hairdresser in the hospital is a fabulous idea. Lots of people feel uplifted when they've had their hair done.
I remember just before I had my Caesarean section, the midwife came in brandishing a lady razor, which was a man's razor with a pink handle.

She said, 'Do you want your husband to shave you or shall I?'
I couldn't answer quick enough 'You do it please'
Who would entrust this job to a fella? I'd probably have ended up with I woz ere shaved into it or something.
