I stopped sending Christmas cards in 1964 -- when I decided I wasn't a christian.
I have survived since
--- try it.
You may well find as I did that some people express gratitude that you can be struck off their card list -- and they remain your friends.
They are a victorian invention .....along with those messy trees that you drag indoors every year
