Entwisi always gives good advice and his views are always valued. It really is a matter of opinion, if you can code, tweak, modify then I agree, you should go off and build your own.
But if you're looking for a community site, to encompass the whole of Lancashire, and have no technical knowledge at all, it's a ready made bargain. I've always thought that RewindLancs just needs 15 members, who post on a daily basis, and the site would grow like a small snowball rolling down a long mountain side
