One sad truth of the situation re: the media is "good news does not sell papers". Another, even sadder verity, is that the first casualty of war is the truth.

The public, in general, cannot be bothered to read anything. This is why the government has to spend countless millions on education/information campaigns. It makes one wonder why we are so concerned that all of our children are taught a skill which so few of them will ever really make use of.
